The Turkish Economy Policy Research Foundation (TEPAV) has reviewed the decisions of energy investment of companies through a field research that has been involved in more than 70 companies. In the research, how the existing incentive mechanisms in Turkey and global developments in financial markets are perceived by companies in the field of energy production, and responded to the questions of what investors are predicted for the future.

The most important import pens of Turkey come to the energy sector. The study reveals that Turkey’s cari should be more effectively directed to edible energy sources to combat open source economic fragility.

The companies expect financial difficulty in short-middle in investments, especially in coal and natural gas investments. 75 percent of participants think they will encounter financial difficulty in coal, 71.4 percent, natural gas investments. In renewable energy, the figures are much better: especially medium-sized investors look more hopeful to the future in edible energy financing by 53 percent.

TEPAV Executive Director Trust Sak emphasizes technology and innovation. Sak, who commented on the development of renewable energy technologies, as one of the areas that can trigger industry transformation in Turkey, is in the opinion that the support to be given to the development of domestic technologies will also help to overcome the current open problem and medium income trap. However, TEPAV’s field research shows that they don’t have enough initiatives in technology development and domestic machinery-equipment production.
