The main problem is that Turkey, which is known as water rich for years, in fact, in terms of the average possible amount of water per person, is in the world rankings. The average available amount of water per person should be at least 10,000 m3 per year, this figure should be 1.430m3 for Turkey. A 70% of water resources in Turkey is used in agriculture, 30% of them are used in domestic and industrial consumption. In 2030, the population of Turkey will reach 80 million, and the amount of water can be used in 1,100 m3 per person. It seems that in the country it will face a lot of water in severe sizes. In the last 50 years, the 1,300.000 hectares of wetlands in Turkey - a space with the size of the three Van Lake - the cabling of the work, which has been lost in such a way as unplanned and excessive water use. Turkey, developed by the source of water, but 36%, is clearly revealed by the fact that water management policies are treated as macro decisions.

When all these conditions are taken into account, in the negotiations carried out on behalf of the EU process, how to adapt to the Union auction regarding water management is more important. In the direction of the prevention of water pollution, if progresses are recorded in the last period in terms of legislation compliance, there is no need to approach the water resources with a “administration” understanding, already EU commitments require it.

In the regions where agriculture, energy and industrial activities are concentrated in Turkey, and in urban settlements, superficial and underground water resources are under great threat, and it is known since it has been very insufficient. Ani season changes are clear that water resources problems and other sectors will result in excessive hot, storm and floods (farming, drought, agricultural economy problems, etc.) are also casual in terms of Turkey as well as inhabited in other countries. Under the EU roof, or outside Turkey, it is necessary to take comprehensive legal, corporate-idari, technical and financial measures to reduce water resources and prevent contamination and to effectively implement these measures within certain plans.
