Carbon capture and storage technologies are growing fast on global scale. Up to 2030 of the current capacity according to 2025 data is expected.
2025 report of the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute shows that the acceleration in this area increases. Operational facilities counted from 50 to 77. The total number of projects in the planning and construction stage reached 700.
70 percent increase in the short run of capacity with the introduction of new facilities is predicted.

This technology stands out especially in industries where emissions reduction is difficult. Cement, iron-steel and chemical industry are at the beginning of these areas.
] It is not possible in the short run to completely eliminate emissions in these industries. Therefore, it is assessed as a transition solution to capture and store carbon in its source.

The USA is located in the country with the broadest portfolio of projects with incentives it provides. In Europe, the UK converts Norwegian and Dutch old gas fields into storage space.
Developing integrated projects in China coal plants. Middle East countries make large-scale investments to reduce energy-source emissions.
