Israel launched a big project in Negev Desert in 2016. The solar plant, which will cost 1.1 billion dollars, will produce 121 MW electricity when completed.
Israel, planning to build a total of three plants in the same size, will produce energy required to 40 thousand households with a single power plant. 250 MW energy to produce three power plants comes to 2.5 percent of the total energy consumption of Israel. Israel plans to achieve 10 percent of energy needs when it comes to 2020 from renewable sources.
The facility to build the U.S. Brightsource company will resemble a ‘sun beam farm’ consisting of helyostat mirrors.
