There was a big food crisis after the flood disaster in 2011 in Bangkok. Employees at Cassettesart University have developed a creative solution to this problem. [

They created a "City garden" in the roof of the building of the Faculty of Architecture. They started to do agriculture in this garden. In this way, the school started to meet the needs of everyday food. This study supported Thai Health Foundation.

After a while, the area in the roof of the school began not to come enough. Professor Pasinee Sunakorn created a solution for this problem. It has obtained a special material by mixing coffee waste with coconut shells. This material vertically placed on the walls of the roof and began to grow vegetable fruit in them. This vertical garden has become extremely efficient. The vertical garden does not only grow vegetable fruit, but also protects the heat of the building.
