Vehicle fleets moved to a neutral future of climate
Goodyear held the 2021 Sustainability Truth Survey to analyze what the solution partners in the transportation are doing to reduce carbon footprint and plan to achieve which goals. According to the explanation; the respondents provided revealed that sustainability is of great importance in terms of transportation sector companies. Three participants expressed sustainability as an important or very important issue. More than half of the fleets with over 100 and more, the company values of sustainability expressed an integral part of its values. Goodyear Commercial Business Unit European Marketing Director Maciej Szymanski states that the responses given to the 2021 Goodyear Sustainability Reality Survey are encouraging, “These responses clearly reveal that environmental sustainability is located at the top of the agenda of the sector. In addition to more importance to reducing emissions, we see that fleet managers are moving clearly. Fleets take precautions against climate problems to achieve their carbon reduction goals and support climate pass to a neutral future.
Sustainability standard
Maciej Szymanski said: “In addition to the time and cost pressures of transportation and logistics providers across Europe, the increased complexity and difficulty level in operations, due to fluctuations in demand, we can say that the sector is at a critical point. We see that we need direct solutions that meet both sustainability and efficiency targets. The standardization of sustainability in speeding this movement is crucial. “
Every 5 will have 4 targets from the fleet[
500 vehicles fleets lead to these studies by making a part of environmental-oriented culture everyday operations, while more than 70 percent of larger fleets are clearly identified environmental targets.. From 5 fleets participating in the survey, 4 will be the sustainability targets until 2022 autumn. This rate means 38 percent increase compared to 2021. One of the most taken measures; while renewing vehicle fleets, 68 percent of fleet operators prefer to renew their vehicles. 43 percent of large fleets from 500 vehicles have passed electric, hybrid or LNG fuel vehicles.

60 percent of the rings use fuel efficient tire]
Around 60 percent of the fleets are using tires that provide more fuel efficiency when ready. In this context, Goodyear supports truck producers and transportation companies in the transition to a more environmentally friendly future. The fleets prefer to recover tires to reduce carbon footprint further. With the reuse of rubber snow and less raw material in the production process, waste and energy consumption, this application offers a direct solution to reduce carbon footprints to the fleets. Goodyear using the same quality material with new tires in recoated tires, thus allowing re-coated tires to perform similar performance with their new ones.
Business expenses drop
Among additional measures to increase the environmental sustainability of the fleets, such as environmental driving techniques, applications to optimize driving behavior. 55 percent of the operators are using these applications in order to apply and to apply fuel consumption measures at the same time. 45 percent of the fleets participating in the survey expresses that environmental regulations to be applied in the transportation industry as well as more stringent regulations. Financial incentives such as tax exemption stand out as important encouraging applications for 70 percent of the fleets participating in the survey. One of the three companies involved in the survey see sustainability as a way to reduce business expenses. [
Solutions very cost
While the main obstacle in front of further increasing sustainability measures is cost, more than 60 percent of participants express that solutions are very cost. 76 percent of large fleets from 500 vehicles emphasize that they can provide greater improvements in the case of the provision of financial incentives. 45 percent of companies say that sustainable solutions are more complex to become part of everyday activities. 54 percent of operators use telematic solutions to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
