Materials in Turkey with Marketplace SKD
The Business World and Sustainable Development Association - SKD has launched the Turkish pillar of an innovative project on the cyclic economy. American Sustainable Development Business Council - Developed by US BCSD in Davos 2016, the world’s first cycle economy award program under the ‘The Circulars’ is now in Turkey.
The project is basically a digital environment created to be the production of raw materials, side products, production residues and other company of used materials. We can consider this environment as e-commerce sites that bring buyers and sellers of the second hand products, which is most simple, widely used today. For the reuse of materials, there are services such as consulting, routing, and with the direction of educational/information, these systems go beyond. Materials that use the cloud technology are a major contribution to the circular economy under a model of ‘business-to-business’ by changing traditional recycling models, waste management systems and even ‘waste’ concept. SKD has launched the launch of this online platform in Istanbul Bilgi University Social Incubator Center on November 2, with the participation of 30 different companies.

The following process will be created with many new opportunities to match between industry organizations that register on the platform. With this project, which will enable us to change business sticks using digital technologies and reach the ‘zero waste’ point, which is the ultimate goal of sustainability practices in terms of business world.
