Earnings by converting Nigeria back

Plastic, paper, metal, glass or even electronic products. There are a lot of methods that allow us to stay back to our daily habits. Of course, you need a garbage collection system first for all this. So if you live in a city where garbage is not collected?

[

2014 Sustainia Award, is a non-governmental organization operating in Nigeria. The city of Nigeria with 18 million populations can be collected only 40% of garbage in Lagos. This situation that creates large danger for public health creates serious congestion in recycling. For example, it works under 50% of the capacity of a large recycling facility in the forced country to find recycled materials.

The practical solution wecyclers recommend for this is working with low cost shipping bikes. These bikes, which collect materials that are suitable for recycling from low-income areas where the population is dense, deliver the collected material to recycle centers. Thus, both wastes are collected and recycle circle are moving.

The reason why the project is successful is the SMS-based system that Wecyclers built. Wecyclers, who first inform and encourage families about recycling, presents points for every 10 kilo materials that can be recycled to families. Families can use these points as a speech time if they wish, to get food and other requirements. Wecyclers, which collects recycled materials in this way, sells materials to different local recycling businesses.
