In order to protect the ecosystems with the richest culture of the earth, "]]]] in the Ramsar city of Iran in February 2 of 1971. Since 1997, 2 February is celebrated by World Sulak Turizm Day [, in order to protect the public’s attention. The main theme of Sulak Turizm Day 2008 was determined as “[[Healthy Sulak Turizm Healthy People[. (www.ramsar.org]) This theme reminds us before the important role of wet areas in people's life. Sulak areas are often ignored as a source of clean water and healthy living conditions. Don’t forget that there are no healthy wet areas, the life of the earth is destroyed. Or, especially in our country, wetlands are dried with various occasions, polluted, destroyed by extreme use.

In our country with more than 250 wetlands, only 12 domains have been declared as Ramsar Area until now and they were committed to protection and benefits. These areas are Gediz Delta, Manyas (Kuş) Lake, Burdur Lake, Sultansazliği, Seyfe Lake, Göksu Delta, Redurmak Delta, Uluabat Lake, Akyatan Lagini, Egg Lagini, Meadow and Stern Obruğu. But one part of these wetlands is dirty, one part faces the danger of being dry and destroyed. One of the main sources of life over the world, it is now the task of having wetlands and condoming us all.
