10 themes of Cop31: Map of conversion

10 themes of Cop31: Map of conversion
9
In November 2026 there are 10 themes on the agenda of COP31, which will be held in Antalya. But these titles are not independent issues. Each creates parts of a conversion map that reflects the multi-dimensional structure of the climate crisis and complements each other.
So what is this 10 theme and how to connect with each other?

1. Zero waste and methane reduction: Turn off cycle[
[
Waste management is one of the most often overlooked sizes of climate crisis. The world produces billion tons of plastics, textiles, food and construction waste every year. An important part of these wastes is melted into the atmosphere by decaying in storage areas. Metan creates a much stronger greenhouse gas effect than carbon dioxide in short term. [
Zero waste approach requires rethink of the entire life cycle from the design of products to consumption and reuse. Non-package sales models, repairable products, recycling and loop production systems are among the basic tools of this approach.
Under this title at COP31, the producers’ responsibilities will be strengthened and methane emissions will be discussed in more efficient measurement and reduction.
]
2. Clean energy and electrification: Conversion of energy
] [
The three of the agricultural greenhouse gas emissions are caused by the energy industry. Many areas from electrical production to transportation, from buildings to industry are still largely dependent on fossil fuels. [
Clean energy conversion refers to the expansion of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric and geothermal. Elektrification covers the conversion of oil and natural gas systems to electrically powered alternatives.
It is aimed to significantly increase global electrification by 2035. But this conversion is not only a technological change. It also requires financing, infrastructure, workforce conversion and training.

3. Food safety: Fits from agriculture to table
]
Immune change directly affects agricultural production. Contraindications, excessive precipitation, hot air waves and new pests cause yield losses in many regions. In the same period, the world population is increasing and the printing on food systems is growing steadily.
] Food safety contact in COP31 covers water management, soil health, agricultural innovation and local food systems. Applications such as agricultural ecosystems protective agriculture, cyclic agriculture and controlled production systems are seen among new agricultural models that adapt to climate change.
Agriculture is not only an economic activity. It is also located in the center of water safety, biodiversity, rural development and social resistance. [

4. Green industryization: Redesign production[
The industry creates about four of global carbon emissions. Cement, steel, chemical and plastic production are among the highest emission sectors.
However, not to stop the production of solutions; convert production formats.
Green industrialization refers to redesigning energy resources, used materials and production processes. The use of circular economy, energy efficiency, resource efficiency and renewable energy is the basic tools of this transformation.
In particular, the industrialization processes of developing countries will be maintained with low carbon models, one of the important discussion titles of COP31.
[email protected] 5. Oceans: Protect the blue system of the planet
Occyanus contributes to the balance of the climate system by absorbing an important part of human-source heat and carbon. But at the same time under large pressure due to the increase in excessive hunting, plastic pollution, acidization and sea temperatures.
Coral reefs, mangrovlar and sea brewries quickly damage in many regions.
This theme covers sea protection areas, sustainable fishing, reduction of plastic pollution and compliance solutions for climate change.
Oceans are not only the victim of climate change, but also an important part of the solution.

6. Resistant cities: Manage Fragment
] [
More than half of the world population live in cities. At the same time, cities are among the most intense areas of climate change.
Hot air waves are among the basic risks facing floods, water shortages and air pollution cities.
Resistant cities are shaped with green spaces, green roofs, early warning systems, sustainable transportation, strong water management and social support mechanisms.
The success of adapting to the climate crisis largely depends on how quickly the cities can turn. [
[
7. Youth participation: Social ground of conversion
Teens will experience the results of the climate crisis for a long time. Despite this, it is not often represented enough in decision-making processes. [
Youth participation in COP31 ; training, employment, access to technology and decision-making mechanisms will be discussed with participation titles.
Young people are not only the share of the future, but also important actors of today’s transformation.
[
[8. Health systems: Rethink climate and health relations[
[
The change of health systems affect very versatile. Hot air waves, air pollution, new infectious diseases and nutrition problems increasingly threaten the health of more people.
Especially children, elders and fragile communities are more affected by these effects.
To make health systems resistant to climate; early warning systems require to strengthen disease monitoring capacity, clean air policies and nutrition safety.
Therefore, health is worth noting only a medical matter Tags; also a direct associated topic with environmental, agriculture and social policies.
[
9. National contribution declarations: Road maps of countries
The national contribution statements contain the targets that the countries have revealed in emission reduction and climate compliance.
However, existing targets do not seem enough to limit global temperature rise with 1.5 degrees.
In COP31, countries are expected to explain more ambitious, enforceable and measurable goals.
Because the success of the goals is not only given commitments, but also dependent on the necessary financing, technology and capacity to implement these commitments.

10. Finance, technology and capacity development: Transformation infrastructure
[
Financialman, technology and capacity development headers are seen as common ground of the other nine themes. [
Renewable energy investments cannot be performed without adequate financing. Green industryization without technology transfer can not be fastened. It is difficult to implement climate conversion of many countries without capacity development.
Therefore, in COP31, these three areas are aimed to be integrated horizontally to all day titles.
Map of conversion
] The 10 theme of COP31 is not an independent list of each other; it creates a map of a systematic transformation.
The cyclic economy can not be developed without zero waste. Without clean energy, the carbonation of the industry is not possible. Food and water safety cannot be provided without resistive cities. The transformation without participation of young people can not gain social legitimateity. It is unable to turn targets into practice if it is without finance and technology.
The success of COP31 will depend on what these themes can strengthen each other.
